At Memphis Rox, we believe climbing is the ultimate metaphor for overcoming life’s obstacles. Through weekly training sessions, The SoulSenders, our youth climbing program, receive mentorship that not only helps them grow on the wall, but instills skills like cooperation, persistence and leadership that empower them off the wall, too. Our programs support youth ages 5 – 18, with a focus on beginners as well as the experienced who want to bolster their technique in a supportive environment. A parent or legal guardian must complete the form in order for youth to enroll.
If you have any questions, please email coaches@memphisrox.com.
The Soul Senders Youth Team can be divided into two primary paths, recreational climbing and competitive climbing.
The Comp Team is for youth familiar with the basics of climbing and who show interest in competition climbing. Our program does not determine competitive team placement by merit of ability, but by curiosity, dedication, and a sense of inward competitiveness.
The Rec Program is for any youth ages 8 – 18 who is interested in learning how to climb in a relaxed and fun environment. Team members will learn the basics of climbing while building camaraderie and communication skills.
The Starters team is for younger individuals 5 to 8 years old who are excited to climb and want fun challenges along the way. At this age level, we are focusing on confidence and having fun with climbing. As they age out, the option to move to rec or competitive will be up to them

Are you interested in sponsoring a student to join one of our climbing programs? The cost for a child to climb is $2,500 annually. Your support enables us to eliminate social and economic barriers not only to climbing, but to the resources and relationships behind youth development through organized sport.
The youth program highly benefits from donated climbing shoes (either resoled or in moderate to good condition) and other re-usable outdoor gear and apparel. If your student or your gym has outgrown gear, please consider donating to the SoulSenders program. Any harnesses or belay devices must be new and in original packaging.
